Wow – with 21 entries, I think this is our busiest ever week! Please give a warm welcome to our newest members, Georgia, Jo, Alan, Joe and Venser. I see some of you have already introduced yourselves on our say hello page, but if anyone else would like to say hi, you’re more than welcome. If you give the name of your town, I’ll put a marker on the map! If you could also have a glance at the usual rules that’d be great.
There’s a huge variety of interpretations of the simple theme this week. For those who aren’t familiar with how this works, people usually comment on other people’s work, say why they like it, and give a bit of feedback. This is one of the most important parts of the Photo Challenge.

Thanks to everyone who entered this week. We’ve got nineteen fantastic entries, including two from Xandra and Ayla who have joined us for the first time this week. Welcome!
For a bit of interest, I think it would be good if everyone can write a quick note in the comments to say what is “retro” about their picture – whether it is the subject matter or the photographic technique. And if you used an interesting technique – say a few words about how you did it.

Thanks and well done to everyone who took part this week. How did you all find the technique of looking before snapping?

Sorry for the slightly late results this week. “Work” happened!
This week we have a fantastic 17 entries, including three from new people!
Please welcome Kitzzy, Conor and Kevin. If you haven’t done so already, please have a quick look at the usual rules (don’t worry, nothing scary) and feel free to introduce yourselves on our say hello page.
Click on the photos to see them larger, and also to read the comments that people wrote about their own entries. We don’t usually publish text with photos but on this occasion it made a lot of sense.

I draw my inspiration from the world around me – both natural and man-made

Not necessarily my inspiration – but it’s someone’s

It took me a while to be inspired for the inspiration challenge. It was the first decent day of weather for a while, and it seem to inspire these buds to make an appearance.

Not my inspiration process either, but definitely the figurative and literal result of inspiration

Right now I am inspired by Dada

To me, photography is more a matter of being at the right place at the right time, it’s really the inspiration of the moment

I took the prompt somewhat literally and hiked to Inspiration Point to take this photo

My inspiration the last few months has been Slinkachu

Everything inspires me- stories, other people, colours; like I said, everything! That isn’t the easiest photo to take, so I took a motivational sunny shot.

My submission is taken from a set of photos we took at band practice recently – the inspiration link is about being creative with other people and inspiring each other.

Nature inspires me

I waited and waited my inspiration, no luck, so I had to improvise

My inspiration is the SKY

When all else fails and I feel the need to take photos my cats are always willing participants, although Alfie does look a little grumpy in this one!

My inspiration comes from seeing things, either in a new way or completely new stuff

For me, inspiration comes from being in the right place at the right time, and knowing that subtle changes can turn something ordinary into something beautiful
Thanks to the 14 people who entered this week. There was also an entry from Colin but unfortunately I couldn’t open the picture. I’ve asked him to re-send it, and I’ll add it later.
I am genuinely surprised at the range of similar-but-different interpretations from quite a specific theme, so very well done to everyone.
