New look website

Sorry for the torrent of posts from the Photo Challenge this evening!

A couple of technical reasons have necessitated a quick redesign of the website. What do people think of the new look?

As an aside, since Dave mentioned the old meet and greet page wasn’t working, I’ve spruced it up and replaced it with a say hello page. All the old comments are still there, but if you are new please do introduce yourself. I think we’re lacking quite a few map markers so if anyone wants a map marker on their hometown (don’t worry, we won’t publish your address) then please leave a comment.

Challenge Admin, I enjoy taking photos mostly of landscapes and architecture - but I will try anything! I mostly shoot film and I spend a lot of time in my darkroom trying to get the perfect print. I'm a sysadmin for a living and I also enjoy cycling and music technology.

  2. Wow, I was commenting on the old website and then the whole world went upside down and I arrived here… trippy. And what’s with those ‘lose 2 stone in 4 weeks’ ads? They weren’t there yesterday… were they?

  3. Oh, and thanks for putting so much time and thought into the site. It’s appreciated, just sos you know.

  4. Sorry Ollie :( It wasn’t supposed to be so disruptive but the old theme suddenly bombed out and I had to change theme to allow the site to continue working properly. I can’t see any weight loss ads – where are they showing up for you?

  5. This new look is nice and clear I think. What I really like, is the fact that post date and comments are on the left, not in the way. Helps to focus on the content.

  6. Google Chrome weedled its way onto this PC and it would appear it is linking ads to text in random websites. IE is not. Oh, hang on, it just did. Uber-ironically, it latched itself on to the text ‘weight loss’ in your post… I think I’ll run an anti-malware program…

  7. I think you’re wise to do a malware scan. I recommend MalwareBytes.
