Photo Challenge

Inanimate – Results

Well done to everyone who sent in an entry this week! There’s a huge variety of creative pictures.

Challenge Admin, I enjoy taking photos mostly of landscapes and architecture - but I will try anything! I mostly shoot film and I spend a lot of time in my darkroom trying to get the perfect print. I'm a sysadmin for a living and I also enjoy cycling and music technology.

  1. wow! they’re all really good!! got some really cute ones and happy ones, but Lee’s is quite terrifying 😮 love them all :3

  2. I like Jess’ – it is not so obvious so you have to look harder, which makes you notice all the other detail that you would normally ignore. I think Helen should get a special mention for having the only image that doesn’t represent a living thing.

  3. Some great photos!! I think I have my childish head on… Kate B’s and Paul A’s are my fav’s this week… Kate’s looks like Wall-E and Pauls looks like a character out of Robots! lol

Also like Ollie B’s, and Jess’s. Jess I couldn’t see yours at first which is why I like it so much!

  4. Oops, I feel like I have cheated as that photo wasn’t my entry, but I didn’t manage to take a photo I liked enough to share.
Anyway, my favourites are Lisa’s and Jonathan’s as I like the personality they seem to have.

  5. I really love Lisa’s photo this week. My clear favourite by far :o) but then I do have a soft spot for photo’s of buildings. I really love the creativity of Jess’s.

  6. What a coincidence that Kirsty and Michal chose the same subject matter!

My favourites this week are from Kirsty (for the cheerful character), Ollie (for the the plain black background which seems quite thought-provoking and mysterious) and Lisa (because I like buildings).

My entry is a portrait of a friendly ghost I saw in IKEA 😀

  7. Thank you, Kate and Carole.

I think they are all great – really hard to pick a favorite. Top three for me are Ollie’s, Helen’s, and Kirsty’s.

  8. They are all good. I really like the teddy bear one – it makes me smile. I showed the results to my 3 and 5yr olds – they loved the cactus pictures. I found Jess’s really hard to see but got it eventually :)

  9. Thanks guys for the positive feedback. I had other angles of this shot but felt this one captured the idea of movement better.
Loved everyone’s creativity. I like how it’s as though many of the ‘creatures’ are living amongst us in plain view but we are too blind to notice. I liked Helen’s and Ollie’s interesting illusions and as a side note, when I saw Newland’s i thought~ wouldn’t it be neat if the fruit face was in a bowl of fruit (life within a still life?) 😛
