Apologies to anyone who noticed that the website was down for a while this afternoon. We had “technical issues” which appear to have been fixed by turning it off and on again!
We’ve got a great number of entries this week, including one from our newest member, Jessica. Welcome!

I like Lucacz’s. Very dramatic – like a scene from a scary movie.

I like Lucasz‘s picture because it makes me want to know what happens next. I also like the texture in Jessica‘s picture.

There’s so many good pictures this week! Jonathan and Lucasz, you’ve got in touch with the dark side – and it’s very appealing. Kirsty, yours is so simple yet brilliantly effective, and the colour is perfect. There’s something very Tim Burton about it somehow. Lisa, yours is my overall favourite this week. Glorious black and white, elongated figure (something Giacometti-like perhaps?), this could also be a scene from a scary movie!

Thanks Colin. Mine was taken in the cellar of a Victorian townhouse in the posh end of Bristol. I was actually down there to fix a network cabinet at work but the lightbulb had gone and it was pretty dark. Inspiration came together, and I spent a few minutes not working and setting up the shot, which was taken on my phone.
Now I know the location, I might be tempted to bunk off work some time again and head back over there with a proper camera.

My favourite this week I think is Lee’s. I love the way the shadow has cast, but also, I love elephants
. A lot of the entries this week have an eerie theme, such as Lucasz’s shadowed figure or Lisa’s tall silhouette. Mine was pretty bad this week, but I did do it last minute, and I didn’t have a tripod.

Thanks Katey!
I love elephants too
I also took some other pictures which you can see here. I almost submitted the top one!
I like your picture! I was going to do something similar but got carried away with my flash gun!

Thanks Colin! Wasn’t my goal but being compared to Tim Burton is pretty amazing! Love them all this week, especially Annie’s- confused me for a while

Thanks Jonathan and thanks for the warm welcome. I hope to submit every week as long as my lil 8 month old permits me to! I enjoyed everyone’s shots. Lucasz and Jonathan’s shots were very interesting and creepy with their use of light (or lack of), makes you want to know the rest of the story behind the picture. I also liked Annie’s bike shadow and Lisa’s picture. The height and the black & white makes it striking, and I love the leaves dotting the shadow’s ‘dress’
