This week’s Challenge was suggested ages ago by Kate, and we’ve been saving it for a rainy day (literally). We’re looking for pictures of stormy skies, the more dramatic the better! The forecast for most of England is rain and cloud all week, so this shouldn’t be a problem.

For other people taking part in Europe, perhaps you will get a taste of the grey English weather. However, I’m aware that some of our members send in photos from Argentina and other far-flung places. If you don’t have rainclouds this week, you can send in a picture of the sky with a different sort of weather.
Taking good pictures of the sky can be hard, but there is lots of help on the web. I thought this article about how to photograph clouds included lots of useful advice and some example pictures. Otherwise, just Google it!
Please send your stormy skies photos in by noon on Tuesday 15th May.

Hi Nau, Nice picture! I really like the layering effect the clouds are producing.
Unfortunately your photo doesn’t quite meet the rules of the challenge which say that entries should be taken specifically for the challenge and that photo seems to have been taken last year.

I took this today, before I had read the topic for this week, but after it was set. Does that count ??

Hi Paul,
If I understand the rules correctly then yes it does! As long as it’s taken during the allocated time scale for the challenge.

Here you go, my version of “Stormy Skies”. I kinda took it over the top with Machinery HDR… But I like it.

Hi Paul! Long time no see!
Strictly speaking it’s not within the rules – but having talked to Jonathan we pretty quickly came to the conclusion that had you not been so honest we’d never have known – so we’re going to welcome it as an entry anyway

Hi,
Dull grey overcast in Hove all week till saturday, then blue sky with the odd white cloud. Ive had the camera sticking out over the balcony taking pictures on timelapse just in case I missed a dark black cloud all saturday until the police came knocking on my door to see if I’m some kind of perv taking pictures of passing kiddies. So only a lightroom altered image from me this time I’m afraid.

Marc, I don’t seem to have access to view your entry. Can you make sure it’s set to public?
Kirsty, you know something’s wrong when the weather isn’t grey in the Midlands!
