Photo Challenge

Updated rules

Those who have been keeping up with the discussion on this website over the past couple of weeks will know there’s been some debate about what the rules are and how they should be interpreted – particularly relating to posting old images.

We’ve read all of the comments and considered them, and we’ve talked at length about the various options. We’ve decided to update the rules, which you can find on the usual rules page (it’s always in the top bar of the website if you need it in the future). Please familiarise yourself with them if you take part in the Photo Challenge. We’ve done our best to make them readable, so hopefully it won’t be like reading legal small print.

You can’t comment on the rules page directly, so if you have anything to add please comment on this post instead.

You might also have noticed how I keep saying “we”. That’s because Paul is stepping up to become a joint admin of the Photo Challenge. He’s helped out in the past when I’ve been unavailable, but now he will be playing an active role in setting the Challenges, collating the results and running the website.

With a bit of luck, there will be some weeks where not even I know what the Challenge is, and it’ll be a surprise for me too.

Your friendly Photo Challengers,
Jonathan & Paul

Challenge Admin, I enjoy taking photos mostly of landscapes and architecture - but I will try anything! I mostly shoot film and I spend a lot of time in my darkroom trying to get the perfect print. I'm a sysadmin for a living and I also enjoy cycling and music technology.

  1. So, if we post an old image it will be linked to, as opposed to displayed? Fair enough :)
