Photo Challenge

Poetry

This was an idea I had a while ago, but since Kate also suggested it recently, we’ll run with it.

The Challenge is poetry, and it’s a little bit different. I want you to send in a poem, and a photograph that accompanies it. You could write the poem yourself, or choose one written by another poet. Just make sure that you either send me the text of the poem and the name of its author, or at least enough information that I can find it online!

Please send your poems and photographs in by noon on Tuesday 15th November. Have fun!

Challenge Admin, I enjoy taking photos mostly of landscapes and architecture - but I will try anything! I mostly shoot film and I spend a lot of time in my darkroom trying to get the perfect print. I'm a sysadmin for a living and I also enjoy cycling and music technology.

  1. ooh I love that! Is your email working again?

  2. It should be. I was never aware that it broke, but maybe it might have rejected the message if the attachment was too big (or if you sent two at the same time). Did you get a bounce message?

  3. Here you go, my “Poetry” http://www.wiggersrobert.nl/2011/11/photo-challenge-tuesday-poetry/

I decided not to follow the challenge assignment. Why not? Because it’s got nothing to do with photography, if you ask me. Everybody can write/copy a poem and take a picture of it. So I decided to use this picture I took last summer in the Dutch city Arnhem. It’s pure street poetry, if you ask me. The closest thing to poetry I could think of.

  4. Ok i have been trying to get a good moon shot, (no pun intended) for awhile and i finally captured a fairly good one. finding a good poem to go with it was a little harder then the shot itself. So this is To the Moon
