I hope this Challenge proved to be fun. The results, I think, are some of the best we’ve ever had. Keep it up!
Bertenand Green
OK, it’s not a classic, but here’s my rendition of one of Martin Parr‘s “Mexico” series.
Jonathan Gazeley
I haven’t been able to trace the exact date of this photo of Richard Nixon, but it seems likely that it was taken in May 1973.
Andy Young
Sort of works. One isn’t mine, obv.
Julia Gazeley
This is my entry. I know it’s not very good, but it’s my first time using photoshop! It’s inspired by the various Andy Warhol images of Marilyn Monroe.
Ben Buxton
My attempt at a re-creation of the Loch Ness Monster hoax photo from the 30s with minimal Photoshopping. More difficult than I imagined!
Edmund Gazeley

Super! I love every one of these. Well done all!

Some marvelous efforts from everyone this week! I really like all of them, although Julia made me grin most this week so she gets some internet points for that.
I’ve got an old photo I’ve been trying to recreate for months, unfortunately I didn’t get to the location last week so didn’t enter (excuses excuses) and to date my attempts haven’t been from *quite* the right angle.
However, I do already have plans brewing for this weeks challenge

Brilliant work, everyone!

These are so compelling, I keep looking at them. I love the diversity of the original images that people chose. I think my favourite has to be Ben‘s just because it is so retro. Did you seek out the real Loch Ness monster, or did you set up a hoax like John Wilson?

Really good ideas from everyone! Nessie wouldn’t put in an appearance, but I did manage to get the “legendary” Monster of the Avon Gorge instead.

Oh Noooo , i read this all wrong and thought i had to recreate an image from lego!! I hope you run this again as i would love to participate. I like all the entries. Bertrand’s DOF is fab and love your Martin Parr recreation. Jonathan, your’s made me howl so funny.. liking those stern brows and you even have a very identical finger point- class shot. Andy i think yours does work, very clever to find the location and good to see that not much as changed in the landscape. Julia, really like your take on this warhol classic, colour switches is brill and i prefer your alien look. I like your Nessie Ben,, what did you use? Gutted! Mr Gazeley, to have missed out on the best challenge so far, for me

Grr, I even took a picture for this one!
annoyingly my camera didn’t have a memory card in it, and so it’s saved on internal memory, but my computer just refuses to recognise a cable link between it and the camera!
Any tips from fellows brothers in struggle?
It was a brilliant photo though, let’s just be clear on that

Sorry Kathy! I re-read last week’s brief and you’re right, it was a bit vague. I’m sure we will run this one again sometime, because we’ve had an excellent response. In the meantime, remember you don’t need an excuse to take photos!
Mine wasn’t supposed to be funny, I was going for the “evil president caught out and under pressure” look, but never mind
I do have a rather stern brow, and you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.
Also, Julia’s isn’t Photoshopped. She is actually green in real life, and that’s one of the reasons why I moved out!

Ed, I remember we ran into this issue in the past. Does it work on other computers? If so, well, there’s your fix
If you manage to recover your photo, I guess I can begrudgingly accept a late entry, as it was taken in time. And it’s about time you sent something in

Really enjoyed these – laughed and laughed! Great variety of “originals” chosen.

Thanks Ed. I’ve just added your somewhat late entry

I really love all of them.
