Mothers

Hopefully everyone remembered that Sunday 3rd April is Mothering Sunday. Therefore your Challenge this week is to take a photo on a maternal theme. It could be your mother, someone else’s mother or a different aspect of motherhood or maternity.

The photo doesn’t have to be taken on Mothering Sunday itself, but please send [...]

Spring – Results

Thanks to all who sent in a picture of what springtime means to them. There’s a wonderful array of colour, and one of the biggest participations that we’ve ever seen!

Please welcome Jan and Val, who join us for the first time. Feel free to pop over to our meet & greet page to [...]

Spring

As the weather has been delightful this week, and hopefully will continue to be, I think this week we should all take pictures that demonstrate the arrival of Spring.

I’ll leave the content up to you, but you could cover leaves on trees, blue skies, flowers, baby chicks, etc.

I look forward to seeing [...]

Recreating a classic photograph – Results

I hope this Challenge proved to be fun. The results, I think, are some of the best we’ve ever had. Keep it up!

OK, it’s not a classic, but here’s my rendition of one of Martin Parr‘s “Mexico” series.

Recreating a classic photograph

This week’s Challenge might be just that – a bit of a challenge.

Last year on How to be a Retronaut there was an article about recreating famous photographs in Lego. I thought it would be interesting for us to have a go at this (again*). I think it will be quite hard, so [...]

The narrow path – Results

Thanks and well done to the seven people who sent in their interpretation of the narrow path. It seems the Spring sunlight has been kind to us this week, and it shows in the photos.

The narrow path

A few weeks ago I was searching around online for ideas for Challenges – I like to keep a list of ideas so we never run out. I came across a list of Biblical themes, and there are quite a lot of unusual ideas there that aren’t really tied to religion but are interesting [...]

Timesnaps – Results

Well done to everyone who set their alarms and remembered to take a timesnap at 3:03pm on the 3rd of March.

Please welcome Susan and Colin, who join us for the first time. We hope you have fun here!

Timesnaps

Thanks to Andy G for suggesting this week’s Challenge.

Timesnaps – everyone to take a picture of whatever they are looking at or doing at a notable point in time. Those who share a single camera could be allowed a few minutes either side! A few words of explanation could be added, if needed.
