Last week’s Challenge was a very simple theme. This week, the Challenge is again a fairly simple idea – but there’s a twist.
Your Challenge is to take an extreme close-up of an object, such that it’s not easy to tell what it is. After the results have been published, everyone has to try and guess what everyone else’s shot is of. Bonus points to be awarded if anyone’s photo remains unguessed after a week!
If you have a whizzy-doo camera, chances are you know how to do close-ups. If you have a point & shoot camera, there is normally a button with a symbol of a flower that activates close-up mode.

Macro symbol
If your camera has neither of these properties (or even if it does, but you fancy a challenging Challenge!) then you can use a magnifying glass or some other lens held in front of your camera. You could even experiment and use a goldfish bowl or a glass of water!
There are some tips for taking great close-up photos on instructables.com.
Please get your mystery entries in to me by noon on Tuesday 23rd March. With your entry you should include:
- The mystery close-up shot
- A zoomed-out shot, showing what the object is
- A note to me, saying what the object is
You can submit the mystery photo however you like, but please email me with the zoomed-out version and your blurb, so it stays secret.
All will be revealed at the end of the week. Good luck!

Just like they used to do on Zzap! the comic book show on CITV! Hehe. Does is have to be suitable for family viewing?!!
Erm, yes.
