Welcome back to the Photo Challenge after a break for Christmas and New Year.
The last Challenge set in December was to take a picture that represents what you did in your Christmas break. There was a good turnout this week, with eight nine entries. Here’s what we received:

Nooooo another evil teddy!
Wow, I’ve always wanted a novelty Bee Gees sellotape dispenser!
Great work everyone!
For me, it’s all about the tree. With H and I working between Christmas and New Year, it’s about the only sign in the house that something different is happening (other than a surfeit of chocolates afterwards!) It’s great to light the fire, put the tree lights on and watch a film in the evening!
I made a home-made starburst filter to get the points of light coming from the lamp. (And since it was made from white card, I then had to edit out the relection of it in post-production!)
How did you make a starburst filter out of card? I bought a cheap one from eBay, but it was made of glass with crossed lines etched into it. Maybe you should write a blog post about it!
My picture is of a thick slab of ice that I attempted to smash. Here’s me and Edmund smashing it:
Just a hexagon cut from card placed over the front element (close to it). Took me several hexagons before I got one that worked nicely.
