Several of you sent in pictures of people for last week’s challenge, Light & Darkness. This got me thinking, and so I thought I’d set a challenge based around pictures of people.
I’ve deliberately avoided the word portrait, as it can seem a little intimidating. It might conjure up images of a formal setting with white umbrellas, backdrops and professional cameras. Pictures of people is a much more relaxed concept. All you have to do this week is take a picture of one or more people.
The subject can be you, or someone else. You can have as many people are you like. The setting can be as formal or as relaxed as you like. You don’t need a fancy camera – just a little imagination.
I’m no expert at people photography (which is partially why I chose this challenge!) but it is often said that people appear more relaxed when you photograph them doing something that is familiar to them (for example sitting at a piano) rather than sitting still and posing.
I know I’ve said this every week so far, but it can be interesting to have a look at similar pictures on Google or Flickr to get some ideas.
Let’s see what you come up with – entries in by noon on Tuesday 15th December, please.

This was not a shot I expected (or planned) to take and, unless I get a lucky break between now and Tuesday, it’s my entry to Challenge #4! Thanks, Photoshop!
