Welcome to the first Challenge on the new Photo Challenge website!
The theme of the first Challenge is textures. Take a photo which uses textures in some way. A viewer looking at your photo should be able to “feel” the texture of your chosen subject just by looking at it.
As this is the first Challenge here, I don’t know what turnout will be like and I don’t know how long it will take people to get used to the new home, so there is currently no fixed deadline. At some point I will publicise a deadline so we can all see the results. Other than that, the usual rules apply.
Whether you are a previous contributor to Stu’s Tuesday Challenge or a newcomer, you are welcome to try your hand at taking a texture photo and submitting it. Either post a link to your photo using the comments form below, or email it in.

Update: I’ve decided to fix the deadline for this challenge at noon on Tuesday 23rd November. This lands on the traditional Tuesday while also giving you over a week to get settled into the new scheme. The noon deadline gives me time to get the results online in the evening. Happy shooting!

I included the big one because one of the earlier trial shots I took had a nice moire texture, but that doesn’t seem to have come out so well in this shot. There are still three distinct layers of texture in the picture though, each in a different medium, which pleased me a bit.
